School Administrator Found Guilty of White Collar Crimes

A former administrator in Beverly Hills, California was found guilty last week of serious charges. Prior to his conviction, he was accused of misappropriating funds that were supposed to be used for the Beverly Hills School District. The suspect, J.H., was convicted on two felony charges of misappropriation of public funds earlier. Based on a month's long investigation, detectives learned that the 54-year-old former school chief took the appropriation of funds into his own hands during his time in Beverly Hills. He made it possible for an administrator to receive $20,000 in bonuses over several years, as well as receive an increase of $500 monthly for gas allowance.
When the guilty verdict was announced, the 54-year-old was witnessed placing his hands over his face. Since the third charge of illegally increasing another subordinate's pay was dismissed, he could spend up to five years behind bars. This sentence is shorter than usual since J.H. did not have a criminal record prior to being arrested for the five felony counts.
