Baseball Player Accused of Assaulting Wife

Another baseball player has made headlines recently for something completely unrelated to his sport.
A former outfielder for a baseball team was arrested this week after his wife called the cops on him. When the officers arrived, she said that her husband had swung a bat at her. Luckily, she was not injured and was able to escape to a neighbor's house. Although the baseball player was not home when the officers arrived, they were able to locate and detain him shortly after within a few blocks of his home.
He was arrested on suspicion of felony
assault and taken to a local jail. This is not the first time that the police have been called to intervene on his wife's behalf, however, as he was arrested for suspicion of making threats against her in January of this year. The outfielder was released on $30,000 bail and will return to court later this month.
