Officer Accused of Felony Sex Crimes

You expect police officers to uphold the law, not break it. Yet, that is exactly what happened earlier this month in Los Angeles.
According to police reports, a sheriff's deputy was arrested this month for committing lewd acts with a 15-year-old girl. Based on evidence provided by the teenager, the 45-year-old officer turned himself in to the authorities. Although he was released later that day on $115,000 bail, he still has to answer for the sex crime allegations against him.
Prosecutors are ready to challenge him in court and they say they have ample evidence. The young victim told police that the officer responded to a call at her home last year. She said that he seduced her and they had a sexual relationship between August 2010 and February 2011.
If he is found guilty of the three felony counts against him, he could spend up to four years and four months behind bars.
