The tables turned last week when a coach was arrested for assault against a student. Jorge Chavez, 33, was released on bail after police took him into custody for attacking a student in the locker room of the school where he teaches.
The Bernstein High School coach has been charged with felony assault and is out on a $50,000 bail. According to a school district official the victim has a large welt on his face that is a result of Chavez kicking him. At this time Chavez has been re-assigned to a non-campus job until his case has been examined further.
