The famous Lenny Dykstra now finds himself gaining more notoriety, this time for white collar crimes.
Dykstra went before a federal judge last week to plead not guilty to the charges of embezzlement against him. Federal prosecutors told the judge that Dykstra is believed to have destroyed or sold over $400,000 worth of items that are part of an $18.5 million mansion, which itself is part of a bankruptcy estate. An Associated Press report stated that Dykstra looked dazed in court, and when asked if he understood the charges, he replied "I don't understand it, but I understand them."
The former Mets coach is now being held in a Los Angeles County Hail on over 25 charges of attempted grand theft auto, grand theft auto and identity theft, along with other crimes. If the 48-year-old is found guilty of all the charges against him, Dykstra could face as many as 80 years in jail.
