Young Man Being Held for Various Sex Crime Charges

One young man who served for our country is now being held on charges of various sex crimes in Florida. Daniel Brazelton, 20, was already being held in military custody in Georgia for raping a 15-year-old girl in Los Angeles County, when he escaped last week.

However, he didn't get very far before being discovered by officials in Volusia County, Fla. According to Capt. Mike Parker of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officers located Brazelton in a motel in Daytona Beach. He was unarmed and surrendered to officers without incident.

The former Army private managed a daring escape when he was being transferred between military to civilian custody for the Los Angeles rape. Detectives with the Special Victims Bureau originally believed that Brazelton would attempt to flee back to his hometown of Palmdale.

He is now being held in custody until his extradition to Los Angeles County.
