Just as his football eligibility expired at Southern California Mitch Mustain was arrested on suspicion of selling prescription drugs. According to Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Bruce Borihanh this is considered to be a felony in the city.
The quarterback was part of a sting operation that was being conducted by the LAPD, however the department is not releasing any information about their sting operation at this time. An email from the L.A. County Sheriff's Department inmate case management system confirmed that Mustain, 22, was released from jail on Wednesday.
Before his arrest Mustain had enjoyed a somewhat successful career at Arkansas, after which he transferred to USC in 2007. He eventually left the Razorbacks after realizing that he could not work well with coach Houston Nutt.
