Lohan's Felony Count Reduced to Misdemeanor

Actress Lindsay Lohan has both good news of two different types to celebrate this week: she snagged roles in two movies and had her grand felony charge reduced to a misdemeanor for theft crimes.
When Lohan appeared before Judge Stephanie Sautner on Friday, she decided to give the actress "an opportunity". The judge went on to say that more severe cases had been dropped to a misdemeanor, providing the grounds for Lohan's case to be reduced as well. She was referring to the felony charge that Lohan received after being accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace from a Venice jewelry store.
This news was bittersweet when the Judge then announced that Lohan had violated her probation, forcing the judge to give her 120 days in jail as well as 480 hours of community service. Lohan will serve her community service hours at both a Los Angeles women's center and the county morgue. Yet Lohan's defense team is not done yet; they filed an appeal and will appear in court again on May 11. In regards to violating her probation, Judge Sautner added that, "I see a level of brazenness with 'Let me see what I can get away with here.'"
