Keith Brown Sentenced to 10 Years in Prison

Keith Brown, who gained fame as the father and manager of his five talented children, was sentenced to ten years to life in prison last week.

After reviewing the details of the sex crimes case, the judge gave him two concurrent terms for a single count of sodomy on a child, as well as two counts of sexual abuse of a child. Earlier last year his three adult daughters went public with stories about the abuse that they suffered at the hands of their father as young girls. The sexual abuse occurred during the 1990s when he was their manager.

Along with their two brothers, were part of a musical group that toured the country.

Brown agreed to a plea bargain in which his sentences were considerably lightened. However, it was up to the daughters as to whether their father would be offered a deal at all. Judge David Mortensen reminded the father that he was being handed a lighter sentence "through the consent of your victims." He then went on to call him a pedophile and a danger to society.
