In the city of Sacramento, police say a man connected with a fatal shootout that occurred at an area pharmacy has been placed under arrest. Prior to his arrest, the 42 year old man named Kelvin Arnell Peterson was holed up inside an apartment for several hours.
Police say that Arnell surrendered himself to police after officers fired tear gas into a North Sacramento apartment on Saturday evening. Once he was in custody, he was booked into Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of robbery and murder.
Officers say that Peterson is one of two suspects that are wanted for the shooting and killing of a 27-year-old store clerk. They say that during the robbery, another store employee pulled out a gun and started to fire. One clerk was killed and another was shot in the foot.
Peterson is expected to be arraigned on Wednesday.
