Man Arrested for DUI Following Accident

In Aptos, it has been reported that a man from Santa Cruz was placed under arrest this week after he rear-ended a vehicle on Highway 1 just south of Freedom Boulevard. Officers from the California Highway Patrol report that the accident occurred at 3:15 AM.
The say that Yunior A Mi Jangos Carrera was driving a black Ford Focus and speeding when he collided with a red Ford Escort.
Following the collision, Carrera sustained abdominal injuries and had to be flown to Santa Clara County hospital. Police officers say that the person driving the Escort did not suffer any injuries.
Officers also say that Carrera was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence (DUI).
