Several Men Arrested for Robbery and Carjacking

This past Friday, several men from Los Angeles were placed under arrest in connection with an armed robbery in Thermal and a carjacking incident in La Quinta.

Police say that 19-year-old Hector Hernandez and 29-year-old Jose De Jesus Rodriguez were found and arrested in an open area near Avenue 60 and Jackson Street.  A few hours later, 30-year-old Javier Lopez was taken into police custody just several miles south of that area.

Officers report that the first two men were arrested about 30 minutes after law enforcement was alerted to the first of the three crimes which are believed to be linked to one another.  Police were called to an armed robbery at 9:57 AM at Apple Recycling.  During that robbery, one person sustained a minor injury and was later released from the hospital.

Just 10 minutes later, a carjacking was reported on Jasmine Court, leading police to believe that the crimes were related.

All of the men that were arrested were taken to jail and booked on preliminary charges of armed robbery, carjacking and assault with a deadly weapon.
