Raid Leads to Several Sex Crime Arrests

A vice raid of Club 907, a hostess bar located in downtown Los Angeles, was responsible for the arrest of 81 women and 7 men.  Police were initially sent to the bar when for an occupancy issue - 400 people were crammed into a space only meant for 250.

The men and women who were arrested face various charges including lewd conduct, prostitution, use of counterfeit identification, and gambling. At this particular club where customers pay for companionship with women, nudity and stripping are prohibited.

Lieutenant Paul Vernon led 30 officers in the raid that is believed to also have discovered some women who were trafficked into the US as sex workers and forced to perform in the club. The Los Angeles Police Department had been surveying the club for two months after a routine check uncovered multiple violations. Their observations garnered enough interest to finally prompt a judge to issue the search warrant they needed to go in.
