In California, a major DUI accident took place in Sacramento. According to police, the man who caused the accident was driving under the influence and is currently at a local hospital being treated for injuries.
On Thursday morning, 49 year old Robert Alverson saw that a motor vehicle accident had occurred. Being a good Samaritan, he went to help the victims of the crash. Unfortunately, Alverson was killed as the accident on Highway 99 led to a sting of crashes involving 5 other vehicles.
Police say that the serious accident occurred around 5:00 AM and that after the collision, they had to shut down northbound lanes as well as several southbound lanes for just over three hours.
It is reported that Alverson has exited his vehicle to attend to the other motorists and was hit by another driver traveling in the northbound lane. He was then thrown into the southbound lanes where he was struck again, leading to his unfortunate death.
