A California Highway Patrol (CHP) officer will return to court for arraignment after pleading guilty to felony charges on Thursday of this week. The officer, 37 year old Ruben Salgado was arrested at a Rocklin shopping center on Tuesday for six felonies. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance with firearm, sale of a controlled substance and two misdemeanors.
Salgado was also charged with felony offenses of being under the influence of methamphetamine and a weapon offense. He is a 12 year veteran of the CHP.
Police say that Salgado's occurred after a two month investigation. The investigation involved the California Highway Patrol as well as the Place County District Attorney's Office.
While in court, Salgado pled guilty to all eight of his offenses. He told the judge that he didn't want to remain in police custody, but had not been able to reach an attorney to arrange bail.
