Riverside Gang Sweep Leads to 30 Arrests

Dozens of motorcycle gang members were arrested last week in a major sweep called Operation Everywhere. The sweep targeted members of the Vagos, the largest motorcycle gang in the state of California.

Arrests were made in California, Nevada, Arizona, and Utah. Locally speaking, 73 locations were targeted in Riverside County. Of the more than 100 Vagos gang members in Riverside, officers made contact with 94 of them and made 30 arrests. In addition to the arrests, officers also seized and drugs, weapons, and other gang paraphernalia, such as a gas cap with a long blade attached.

District Attorney Rod Pacheco said the county will not rest until the gang is eliminated from streets of Riverside County. In reference to continuing their efforts to crack down on gang violence and activity, Pacheco said the county will respond, "aggressively and forcefully for a significant period of time until that threat has been eliminated, not reduced or minimized, but eliminated."
