NBC Los Angeles is reporting that actor Jeffrey Jones, best known for his role in Ferris Beuler's Day Off, was charged with a felony this week. His charge stemmed from his failing to update his sex offender registration last year.
In July 2003, Jones entered a no contest plea to felony employing a minor for the purpose of taking illicit photographs. Due to his plea, he was required to register a sex offender. At this time, his arraignment has been scheduled for July 14th.
Jones was placed under arrest on June 23rd and was later released after paying $20,000 bail. He stands accused of failing to register as a sex offender within five days of his birthday. He is also required to undergo counseling and serve five years of probation. His charge of possession of child pornography was dropped.
