Earlier this week, police were able to file charges against two of three suspects that were involved in a massive drug bust. During the narcotics bust, police netted 130 pounds of cocaine and methamphetamine valued at over $10 million.
40 year old Carmelo Bueno was arrested at his residence in Long Beach. In his home, police found 126 pounds of methamphetamines. 46 year old Camerino Barraza was arrested in Compton while at his home. There, police recovered 13 pounds of cocaine.
Both men have been charged with possession for sale by the Los Angeles District Attorney's Office.
Another suspect, a 37 year old woman, was placed under arrest and then later released by police without being charged.
Prior to the arrests, police had been engaged in a year-long investigation and they still believe that Barraza and Bueno were working together. They also say that when individuals have these quantities of drugs, the narcotics usually come from Mexico.
