In Idaho, a former manager at Wells Fargo bank has admitted to embezzling over $25,000 from three customers' bank accounts. The U.S. Attorney's Office says that 41 year old Julie Dempsey pled guilty to her criminal charges this week in federal court.
Prior to being charged with embezzlement, Dempsey worked at the Mountain Home branch in Boise. From the time period of September 2009 till April 2010, she allegedly withdrew money from three accounts. She then deposited the funds into accounts she created and withdrew money over time.
Dempsey is expected to be sentenced on September 30th and is facing up to 30 years of prison, 5 years of probation and a $1 million fine.
Police say that her case was investigated by the U.S. Secret Service.
