Victorville Police Successfully Arrest Attempted Murder Suspect

Quick work by Victorville police paid off last week when they successfully apprehended a man wanted for attempted murder.
Deputies were responding to a call about a fight at a Quality Inn when then received another call about a stabbing in the parking lot. The dispatcher also said the suspect was attempting to get away in blue Dodge Durango.
Deputies were able to spot the vehicle and pull the suspect over. The suspect, 22-year old Miguel Contreras, and the other occupant in the vehicle both surrendered without resistance.
Witnesses say Contreras stabbed the victim and then ran him over with his vehicle. In the process he also knocked over three people.
Deputies found a bloody knife inside the vehicle, and noticed that the front of the Durango was smeared with blood.
Contreras, who investigators believe is a known gang member, has been charged with attempted murder.
