26 Year Old Woman Arrested for Death of Baby

Jennifer Garcia, 26, was arrested by authorities in Long Beach for the death of a child four years ago. The two-year-old boy that she used to babysit is now believed to have died at her hands; Garcia had also been dating the boy's father at that time.

The incident occurred in November 2006 when paramedics were called to the boy's house when Garcia called to say that he had fallen down a flight of stairs. He was rushed to hospital but later died from his injuries, according to Lisa Massacani, the spokeswoman for the Long Beach Police Department. 

A long investigation  by the Los Angeles County Coroner's officer finally led police to the conclusion that Garcia was the one responsible for the murder.

She is currently being held in Long Beach County on a $1 million bail; she will be arraigned on Tuesday.
