San Bernardino Woman Arrested for Insurance Fraud

A San Bernardino County woman is behind bars for intentionally setting her car on fire so she no longer had to pay for it.
Police have charged Ashley Richardson, 23, with multiple counts, including arson, destroying insured property, filing a false claim, and providing false insurance information for a payment.
The charges stem from a scheme orchestrated by Richardson back in August. Richardson called police to report that her vehicle had been stolen. When police located the vehicle a short time later, the interior was burned.
Police say Richardson staged the whole thing, including the theft and arson of the vehicle. She then tried to file and insurance claim so she no longer had to pay for the car.
